Crochet: Baby Stitches

Dear Readers,

It has been a while since I did a nice simple granny square blanket. It was eerily soothing, and I thoroughly enjoyed how easy it was to just sink into the rhythm of it.

I’m in love with variegated yarn! This mix of blue, green, and white had me hypnotized. I thought it would be a lovely colour for a bouncing baby boy. A simple row of single crochet followed by reverse single crochet (crab stitch) all in white made for a nice simple border to match and make those bright colours pop. I made it for a family friend who had a baby in November, but unfortunately I didn’t realize I wasn’t going to be able to see them until later in the year when they get back from a much needed trip back home to Chile.

I wanted to share not only this new baby blanket, but also to throwback to a cute project from last year that resulted in the leftover white yarn I used for this border.

I could hardly believe that my bestie’s baby turned two over the weekend! This is a dress that I had made her last year, following this beautiful paid pattern by CrochetMonkie.

Have you made any cute baby gifts lately? I’d love to see them!

Crafted with love,
Mandy xoxo
